Balens have always recognised the need to provide a bespoke, household insurance product for Health, Fitness, Well-being and/or Beauty professionals that work from home, as not all mainstream Insurers will provide cover for such risks within their standard product offering. 

For many years, Balens ran a successful online insurance solution for our clients which met the above need.  Following the complete withdrawal of our key partner from the Household Insurance market in April 2021, we have recently had to change providers.

We are delighted to announce that we have successfully negotiated a new facility via Plum Underwriting Limited (Plum), supported by Zurich Insurance plc (Zurich). The initial agreement is to offer a household insurance solution for our existing policy holders allowing them to obtain insurance protection for their valuable personal assets whilst acknowledging their need to work from home.  Plum have given Balens access to their “Flex” household policy, which offers wide ranging cover at competitive premiums for all existing policyholders that held a “working from home” policy.

We are continuing to work to develop a full Household insurance facility for new policy holders, and will update this webpage with additional information as this develops.
